It’s been five months since I had gastric sleeve surgery, and things have gone far better than I could have imagined.
A pain-free and rapid recovery.
In five months, I’m down 105 pounds. Here are the pictures, including a side-by-side, before-and-after comparison, to date.
For those of you playing along at home, here are the numbers:
- Age: 51
- Height: 5′ 10″
- Starting weight: 337
- Current weight: 232
- Goal weight: 195
(ed. note: if you’ve read this far, consider clicking that FOLLOW button over there so you never miss a minute of the cool stuff going on here at BariatricBoy.com. Thanks!)
Here’s a pictorial representation of the data, annotated for your enjoyment.
I’ve got another 35-40 pounds I’m going to lose, but the pace is slowing, and that cliff at the end of this timeline is beginning to flatten out a bit.
If you’ve been on a similar path, though, and you’re thinking about bariatric surgery, I can tell you this: I’m damn glad I went through with it. Best thing I ever did.
Bear in mind, though: your mileage may vary.
Also, FWIW, I’m doing some writing for ObesityCoverage.com now, which is a great site and wealth of information about virtually every aspect of bariatric surgery. If you’ve got questions, you’ll probably find the answer there. Check it out.
